Prattville quarterback Larry Smith will face his toughest challenge of the year Friday night when the Lions travel to Mobile to take on McGill-Toolen. Smith talks about the upcoming play-off game and when he will officially visit the Commodores.

"We play at McGill-Toolen Friday night," said Larry Smith from Prattville, (Ala.). "They are real good on defense. They have some big time D-I commitments on defense (four-star defensive end Sidell Corley and four-star cornerback Phelon Jones)."

"This is going to be the best defense we have played against all season. Hopefully, we will be able to go down there and get the win."

Smith had a big night in the second round of the play-offs as he lead his team to a 54-7 win over Foley. He completed 12-of-17 for 259 yards and two touchdowns.

"I planned on going to the Iron Bowl, but I rested up instead," he said. "I watched the game on TV. I kept flipping back and forth between the Iron Bowl and the Michigan-Ohio State game."

"Both of those games were very good. Each ones of those teams were very intense. It's what was expected. Those two games are really big rivalries."

Smith gave his verbal commitment to Vanderbilt before the beginning of his senior season and remains firm with his pledge.

"I am going up to Vanderbilt January 19 for my official visit," he said. "I think I will probably visit a few other schools as well. I not sure where I will visit. I am still being recruited by Memphis, Southern Miss, South Florida and a few other schools."

The two-star quarterback stays in regular contact with his recruiting coach as he continued, "I talked to coach [Charlie] Fisher last week. He was wishing me good luck on my game. He was talking to me about their previous game against Kentucky.

Stay tuned to ScoutSouth.com as we continue to track Larry Smith and the Prattville Lions through the AHSAA play-offs.
